How to join us

Who can join?

Membership is open to singers who can sing with good intonation, well produced, pleasant tone quality and who display good musicianship.

Although a reasonable standard of sight-singing is expected, if you have a good voice and the ability to pick up parts quickly, the Music Director will take a lack of confidence in sight-singing into consideration.

Enquiries are particularly encouraged from tenors and basses, as there are currently fewer places available for sopranos and altos.

The Audition

The audition consists of vocal exercises to determine voice type and range, aural and rhythm tests and a short piece of sight-singing.

Rehearsals

Rehearsals are held every Wednesday evening at the Griffith University Queensland Conservatorium of Music, South Bank, from 7.30pm to 10.00pm. Some weekend rehearsals may be scheduled and there will be extra rehearsals in the week prior to a performance. Notice of extra calls will be given well in advance.
